Yes, it is funded by the Federal Highway Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation.
No, neither is required, but they are encouraged.

The program has graduated over 500 students in the past 8 years.
A typical regional class has between 10–20 participants.
a. This is a training program, employment is not guaranteed.
b. Participants are encouraged to start job sourcing prior to class to get a head start understanding employment opportunities.
c. We partner with employers who are willing to hire from our program as needed.
d. During the duration of the program, participants will be informed about employment opportunities with our employer partners
Yes, you are required to go everyday
Equipment varies each class but some examples are:
a. Skid-steer
b. Bulldozer
c. Excavator
d. Backhoe
e. Loader
OSHA 10-Hour for Construction Certification Card and a TCCA Certificate of Completion. What is included in the Certificate of Completion varies depending on the class scope and will change on a class-by-class basis, but it always includes Heavy Equipment Operator Training.
The following are examples of what may vary class-by-class:
a. Intro to Construction Estimating & Blueprint Reading
b. Intro to Land Surveying
c. Intro to Materials Testing
d. Intro to Preventative Maintenance for Diesel Engines
e. Work Zone Safety Training
Yes
a. No, there is no state issued license requirement to operate heavy equipment.
b. The Heavy Equipment Operator Training is considered part of the Certificate of Completion.
